At Opal Grand, there are two private dining rooms/boardrooms in the on-site restaurant of Drift where plenty of natural light streams in.

At Delray Sands Resort, the meeting space of Blue Ocean offers floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean and a private patio perched above the water. The outdoor Oceanfront Terrace – part of the resort’s signature restaurant, Latitudes – is a partially covered patio space in full view of the sea.

At Opal Grand, several spaces offer beautiful ocean views – including the upper pool deck, which overlooks the Atlantic and is ideal for receptions, breaks, or networking moments. Meeting Suite 605 also features direct ocean views that bring in natural light and a true coastal backdrop for meetings and gatherings.

At Delray Sands Resort, many of the meeting and event spaces are designed to take advantage of the property’s prime oceanfront location – with indoor and outdoor function areas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, including Blue Ocean and Oceanfront Terrace.

Opal Grand is located just across the street from Delray Beach, which is a public beach, so receptions are not permitted here by the city. However, Opal Grand offers venue space – like rooftop Elevate and the Oceanfront Terrace – overlooking the beach, which allows groups to enjoy sweeping ocean views and a true coastal atmosphere in a private, permitted setting.

The beach at Delray Sands Resort is managed by the resort, so any special events on the sand – receptions, beach Olympics, you name it – are permitted and are a popular place to entertain groups.

At Opal Grand, they are not covered, but your on-site event manager will always provide indoor backup for you in case Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate.

At Delray Sands Resort, Oceanfront Terrace does offer a cover.

Location. Opal Grand, in particular, is in the middle of all the walkable action on Atlantic Ave, then right across the street from the beach, whereas Delray Sands Resort is set directly on the ocean in a quieter stretch of Delray Beach, offering a more relaxed, beachfront retreat while still being just a short drive from downtown’s dining, shopping, and nightlife.

Regardless of which of the two you choose, you’ll be able to get down to business and then seamlessly shift into leisure – whether that means stepping out to Atlantic Avenue’s restaurants and nightlife or unwinding oceanside with your toes in the sand and the sound of the waves just steps away.

The resort has completed a model room with all new items and furnishings, so possibly by the end of 2026. Photos coming soon.

While Opal Grand and Delray Sands Resort do not currently have their own transportation, they do both offer bicycles to get around.

The city of Delray offers Freebee, a complimentary, Uber-style transportation service that operates throughout the downtown and beach areas, making it easy for groups to get around without driving. Simply request a ride through the Freebee app and enjoy convenient, on-demand service to popular local spots.

At Opal Grand, beach services are run by a third-party vendor, Oceanside Beach Services, which provides beach chair and umbrella rentals directly on the public beach across the street.

At Delray Sands, beach service (sun loungers and umbrellas) is always available through the resort on our private beach.

While there is not an on-site kids club, both Opal Grand and Delray Sands Resort partner with WAVES, a trusted local program that offers a wide range of fun-in-the-sun activities for kids and families, like surf lessons, beach games, arts and crafts, and supervised outdoor activities. It’s a great way for kids to enjoy to enjoy the beach with supervision while parents attend meetings or events.

For cabanas, you may reserve directly via email at [email protected] or through your event manager. For bicycles, you can grab them right off the lobby entrance, enter your credit card, and you are cruising Delray in no time.

There are so many great options in lively Delray Beach.
