RESERVATIONS POLICY

DEPOSIT/CANCELLATION POLICY

A non-refundable $500 processing fee will be charged at time of booking. The balance of your stay will be charged to the card on file according to the deposit date specified at the time of booking (see schedule below). Should you cancel your reservation prior to the end of your cancellation window, the $500 processing fee will be forfeited. If the cancellation is made after the cancellation window, the $500 processing fee and full deposit will be forfeited. In the event you do not arrive on the arrival date of your reservation, your reservation will be cancelled and the amount collected will be forfeited at that time.

Full deposit due 30 days prior to arrival. If you cancel inside of 30 days prior to arrival the full deposit will be forfeited.

For stays during holidays and special events a full deposit is due 60 days prior to arrival. If you cancel 60 days prior to arrival the full deposit will be forfeited. Sunset Key Cottages provides self-parking for $30 per day or valet parking for $40 per day.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES

We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the rates or details of the reservation contains or resulted from a mistake or error. Advance reservations for Dining and Spa must be made directly with each outlet after confirming your Room Package Reservation. All packages exclude taxes, resort fee and gratuities.

If you selected a reservation which includes a package please contact the resort prior to your arrival to confirm your dining or spa reservations. Packages do not include gratuities.

Sunset Key Cottages is a non-smoking resort. Guests must be 25 years of age or older to be able to check-in.

CREDIT AND DEBIT CARD POLICY

The credit or debit card used for booking must be the same card presented for payment along with a valid photo ID upon check-in. In addition to the deposit(s) taken prior to arrival, a pre-authorization amount will be placed on your card at check-in. This is a temporary hold of a specific amount – it is not a charge to your account, but it can create a hold on those funds or against credit availability. We also may charge your card for any damages to the room or premises you or your guests cause. Once your actual incurred charges are posted at check-out, based on your bank, credit card company, or institution’s policy, it can take anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days for the original pre-authorization amount to be removed. It is your responsibility to be aware of how your bank, credit card company, or institution handles all of your transactions, including pre-authorizations. The hotel will not be responsible for any delay in releasing funds, or returning availability or any fees or charges by your bank, credit card company, or institution as a result of your use of a credit or debit card. We are unable to remove pre-authorizations directly through our hotel. We do not accept any third-party billing. This policy applies for all reservations.

RESORT FEE

The daily $250 resort fee (plus tax), provides every guest with:

  • Resort beach access with food and beverage service
  • Chaise lounges and towels provided at pool and beach areas
  • Fitness center available 24 hours with room key access
  • A fitness or family activity offered each day
  • Local welcome amenity and refrigerator stocked with arrival beverages
  • Morning newspapers and freshly baked cookies located in concierge lounge
  • Rise and Dine breakfast basket delivered each morning to your cottage porch
  • Nightly turndown baskets with fresh orange juice, bottled water, and local treats (not just your ordinary chocolates!)
  • Daily poolside treats of popsicles, fruit skewers, or smoothies, and ice cream
  • Two Up-Spirits Rum tastings at Latitudes outside bar from 4:30pm-5pm
  • Use of tennis and basketball courts, volleyball on the beach, included rackets and balls
  • Seasonal use of fishing poles and bait
  • Bottled water upon arrival & in your cottage  
  • Scented chilled towels upon arrival
  • Unlimited local and toll-free calls
  • Wireless Internet

100% of the resort fee is used to support these services. No portion of the resort fee constitutes a gratuity and no portion goes to any resort associate.

DOG POLICY

Sunset Key Cottages welcomes well-mannered dogs 30 lbs. or less. Guests bringing dogs must have them leashed at all times when outside of the cottage and will be charged a non-refundable fee of $100 per night, per dog; maximum of two dogs per cottage. Room type and location restrictions may apply, including the restaurants and pool. Guests will be responsible for any property damage inadvertently caused by their dogs. Housekeeping service during your stay should be arranged either when you and your dog are not in the cottage, or if you are, the dog must be leashed or crated.

Certified service dogs that provide assistance to individuals with disabilities are welcome at the hotel and are not subject to the policies and restrictions described above.
