COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT LAKE PLACID LODGE


Location

Lake Placid Lodge is the only hotel located directly on Lake Placid in the Adirondacks and about 10 minutes from the town of Lake Placid.
We offer 30 accommodation options:
– 5 rooms and suites in the Main Lodge
– 2 Overlook Rooms: Pine and Birch
– 6 Lakeside Suites
– 17 standalone cabins along the water:
– 3 Two Bedroom Cabins
– Owl’s Head Cabin, a romantic One Bedroom Cabin
– 7 Lakefront Cabins with unobstructed views of Lake Placid
– 6 Lakeview Cabins located behind the Lakefront Cabins

 

While we don’t have a pool onsite, we have swimming off of the resort’s dock in season on picturesque Lake Placid.

 

The Saranac Lake- Adirondack Airport (SLK) is about 20 minutes away (we offer a complimentary hotel shuttle to SLK) and Lake Placid Airport (a public use airport) is about 5 miles away. The next closest airports are about 2 hours away, Albany International Airport (ALB) and Burlington International Airport (BTV). While we don’t offer shuttle service to ALB and BTV, the Polar Express Transportation Service does run to both airports.

Self and valet parking are included in the resort fee. We have an uncovered lot with ample space for trailers, RVs, and boats.

 

The Suburbans on property are available to transport guests around the local area and to the Saranac Airport. Please contact the front desk to make advance arrangements!

 

To foster a relaxed, “unplugged” atmostphere at Lake Placid Lodge, we don’t have permanent televisions in our accommodations. However, you may request that the front desk bring a TV to your room (based on availability). Since we don’t have cable, guests may sign into their streaming services.

 

Yes, but they are limited. We offer in-room massages and our concierge may offer spa suggestions in the area.

For lunch: Maggies Pub

For dinner: Artisans Restaurant, Maggie’s Pub, the Wine Cellar

Dining reservations are highly recommended for Artisans Restaurant. The Wine Cellar is reserved for private dining at a separate fee.
Room service is also available.

From cornhole in the summer to sledding in the winter, Lake Placid Lodge is the ideal place to connect with your family outdoors, away from the distractions of daily life. Check out the plethora of things to do in Lake Placid.

 

While we don’t offer self-service laundry, we do offer next day laundry service through the hotel for a fee – just contact the front desk before 11 am with your request (please note that this service is subject to availability).

Fitness

While Lake Placid Lodge does not offer an onsite gym, we do work with a local gym, Fitness Revolution, located approximately 2 minutes from Lake Placid Lodge. Passes are complimentary for our guests (just ask the front desk after arrival).

 

Lake Placid Lodge is the ideal place to explore the best of the Adirondacks from hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, and kayaking in the summer to tobogganing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing in the winter.

Take advantage of our fantastic location and downhill ski at the Whiteface Club or ride a bobsled at the Olympic Center nearby!

Reservations

Our reservations department would be happy to assist you with your room reservation. Guests can also access their room reservation online.

For restaurant reservations, please give the front desk or restaurant a call.

Spa and Golf reservations are handled separately from the resort (the concierge is happy to help guests make these arrangements).

 

Check in starts at 4pm and check out time is at 11am.

 

Rollaways are not permitted at Lake Placid Lodge, but pack and plays are available upon request.

 

Lake Placid Lodge welcomes well-mannered dogs in our private cabins only. Dogs are not allowed in the Main Lodge, Overlook rooms or the Lakeside Suites. Guests bringing a dog will be charged $100 per night, per dog; maximum of two dogs per room. Certified service dogs that provide assistance to individuals with disabilities are welcome at the hotel and are not subject to the policies and restrictions described above. Lakeview Cabins, Lakeside Suites and the Two Bedroom Cabins are the best accommodations for 4 or more guests. Please note that children under 12 are not permitted to stay in the Main Lodge.

 

Purchase a gift card or amenity via the In-Room Amenities link in our footer. Or please contact the reservations department at least 24 hours prior to arrival to pay for all or part of a guest’s stay. Our staff will be happy to send you a Sertifi link so that you can submit your payment information securely and electronically.
