Our Courses
Harbourside’s three nines make up three distinctive 18 hole options. Many of the holes are located alongside Sarasota Bay and our own Longboat Key Club Moorings. All three nines have their own distinct characteristics. The White Egret nine measures 3,342 yards. It has the least amount of water of the three nines, but don’t let that throw you off — the challenge lies in its tight fairways. The Red Hawk nine measures 3,314 yards and recently underwent a redesign by architect Ron Garl. The Red Hawk is more open and forgiving than the White Egret, with water that plays into many shots. Our legendary Blue Heron is the final nine at Harbourside and measures 3,368 years. Longboat Key Club’s signature nine was redesigned in 2005 and borders Sarasota Bay. With beautiful views in every direction and a challenge for every aspect of your game, this course has something for every player.
Once known as the Islandside Course, Links on Longboat was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2014 to great acclaim. Expansive natural areas and wide greens meet soft Gulf breezes for a restorative golfing experience. Links on Longboat measures 6,748 yards from end to end with five sets of tees to accommodate any level of play. The course’s Par 71 layout demands accuracy off the tee. Many of our holes feature small waterways that flow along one side of the fairway to prompt you into a placement decision. Once you have driven your ball in a good fairway position, the fun really starts. Our innovative new Ron Garl design challenges your iron play but does not punish you for an errant shot. Fewer bunkers and more grassed collection areas allow for an easy pitch to the hole even if you’ve missed the green. Each green has been completely reshaped to Ron’s creative vision and all 18 holes have been re-grassed with premier salt tolerant Platinum Paspalum grass. Links on Longboat is lined with 5,000 Palm trees and pink and white Oleanders and accented by rich natural Florida wildlife and greenery.
Harbourside Golf Course
White #9, Par 4 – 437 yards
This challenging hole demands players be long off the tee and requires avoiding two lengthy fairway bunkers along the left side. That said, the tee shot must favor the left side to keep from being partially blocked by trees to the right. The second shot of 175 to 190 yards must cross a small lake in front of a two-tiered green. A defining hole of the White Egret, this one will challenge your skills and serve up rewarding views of lush greenery in the process.
Blue #5, Par 5 – 580 yards
This hole is so distinctive that we just might designated it the signature hole of Harbourside Golf Course. Located on the Blue Heron nine, this horseshoe-shaped hole with its peninsula green features water the entire length – and that water must be crossed twice. This striking hole combines length, water, sand, and of course, natural beauty. To succeed at this hole, players will need to hit three quality shots in a row – a fine challenge.
Links On Longboat Golf Course
Hole #7, Par 4 – 420 yards
This challenging hole demands your drive be long and straight to avoid the water on the right and out-of-bounds to the let. There is also a fairway bunker on the right prompting a pushed/sliced drive. The second shot is from 175 to 200 yards to an elevated green that is bunkered on both sides. The green slopes back to front, so position on the correct section of the putting surface is key.
Hole #11, Par 5 – 500 yards
This par 5 hole is a true risk/reward experience, challenging players from the tee box all the way to the green. The hole is surrounded by water on both sides for its entire length and must be crossed in front of the green. The right side also includes a fairway bunker and on the left, a greenside bunker. The player may choose to go for the green in two, but the penalty is severe if the second shot is miss-hit. Most players choose to lay-up short – the choice is yours!

BOOK TEE TIMES
OUR POLICIES
Tee Times: Resort guests may only make tee times one day (24 hours) in advance of play.
Private Club: The courses at Longboat Key Club are available to resort guests and members only. Resort guests are asked to bring their resort keys with them for our team members to verify.
Dress code: No blue jeans, cutoffs, T-shirts, tennis shorts, short shorts, halter tops, mesh shorts, gym shorts, or swimwear. Those not in appropriate attire will not be allowed access to our golf facilities.
COURSE CLOSURES
Please note the course will be closed on the following dates due to tournaments, private events, or scheduled maintenance. Our apologies in advance for any inconvenience.
- June & July: All 27 holes on the Harbourside Course will be closed in June and July for its scheduled annual maintenance.
- August & September: All 18 holes at the Links on Longboat Course will be closed in August and September for its scheduled annual maintenance.
Head Golf Professional
Terry O’Hara
Terry O’Hara joined the Longboat Key Club staff in 2009. In 2007, Terry was awarded the prestigious “Golf Professional of the Year” by Callaway Golf. Terry’s golfing skill has helped him win many numerous New England PGA Pro-Am events and is a past winner of the prestigious Tucker-Anthony Championship. He also won the NEPGA assistants Championship twice, was a past Massachusetts State Junior Champion and represented the United States in the Junior Cup Matches.
