The largest event space in Lake Placid Lodge is our stunning Adirondack Room, located on the first floor with an adjacent expansive terrace. Its moss-green carpeting and tree trunk columns convey that this destination is anything but an ordinary corporate retreat.

An intimate dining room with its own private terrace, the Baby Bootlegger room is an intimate space perfect for a board meeting or small group dinner. Discuss big ideas under the light of its one-of-a-kind rowboat chandelier.

Private and special, the Wine Cellar is where intimate conversations are bound to happen. Dine and discuss the day’s work surrounded by the lodge’s collection of fine and rare vintage wines.
Capacity: 78-90 Guests
Gather your group on the lodge’s dock, which is situated on top of the pristine waters of Lake Placid. With a bonfire roaring nearby and space for a barbecue or other casual meal, this setting is ideal for a welcome reception.

Help Organize Ice Events at the Lake Placid Olympic Center
The iconic site of the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” game, the Lake Placid Olympic Center’s four ice rinks are a hub for various state and regional events, including speed skating, hockey tournaments, and figure skating. However, orchestrating these events demands a considerable amount of effort behind the scenes. That’s why the Lake Placid Conference Center is always seeking volunteers. Not only will you provide support to this Olympic heritage-rich community (host to the 1932 and 1980 Winter Games), if you’re an ice sports enthusiast, there are also ample opportunities to connect with the teams.

Get Up-Close with Adirondack Winged Residents
Since 2008, guests of the Lake Placid Lodge have been loving the Birds of Prey program, where a couple of times a week, Mark Manske of Adirondack Raptors brings in his menagerie of owls, hawks, and falcons for up-close education right on one of the porches at the lodge. For an exclusive experience, groups can reserve this program to meet these formidable local birds with a commanding presence – and even have a few perch on their arm.
Take a Walk on the Wild Side
Seeking the thrill of conquering a 4,000-footer? Welcome to High Peak country, where nearly all of the 46 renowned peaks are within an hour’s drive of Lake Placid Lodge. While no High Peak is truly beginner-friendly, some easier options for your group include Cascade Mountain (4,098 feet), Phelps Mountain (4,161 feet), and Whiteface Mountain (4,867 feet). If a leisurely stroll through the woods is more your pace, explore the nearby Peninsula Trails, High Falls Gorge, and John Brown Farm (see our guide for more options).
Summon Your Inner Olympian
What do rocks, brooms, and intentionally mismatched shoes all have in common? They’re all part of the Olympic sport of curling, which your team can try out on the famous Olympic game stage, the 1980 Herb Brooks Ice Arena. You’ll first learn the fundamentals of curling – including proper delivery, sweeping, and basic strategy – before dividing into teams and competing. Following the activity, you can also take a tour of the arena (home of the “Miracle on Ice”), as well as nearby bobsledding or ski jumping facilities.

The Adirondack Mountain Club is dedicated to fostering connections between people and the state’s wilderness while promoting responsible outdoor recreation and protecting the backcountry. Your group can contribute to their valuable efforts in various ways, including greeting campers at our campgrounds, helping to maintain their lodges, building trails, educating hikers on mountain summits, and more.

Practice Your Salutations on Our Lakeside Dock
Yoga in a studio is one thing. But yoga set on the serene waters of Lake Placid? You just leveled up your downward dog and warrior poses. Groups can schedule yoga sessions at sunrise or sunset set on Lake Placid Lodge’s lakeside dock. With the gentle lapping of water and siren-sound of loons in the distance, it’s a harmonious blend of nature’s beauty with mindful movement, creating a unique and revitalizing experience for participants.
Indulge in All the Activities of Our Lakefront Resort
There’s a reason they call it lake “placid” – there is nothing more relaxing than simply hanging out by the lake. That said, if your group is looking to get more active on-site, the lodge offers plenty of options including a personalized tour of the lake (for up to 16 people) from the lodge’s beloved antique Hacker Craft, Christie; paddleboards and electric boats; and lawn games. In the winter months, activities include ice skating on the lake, snowshoeing, sledding, and more.
