You’ll never see another bridal suite as impressive as this. Expect massive timber beams and a lofted ceiling, an enormous king-sized bed wrapped in hand carvings and vines, a stone fireplace and claw-foot tub, and – best of all – a private balcony equipped with a queen-size daybed set on a swing and a million-dollar view of the lake. Lounge for as long as you like, then spend the rest of the evening exploring the property, home to wood-burning fireplaces tucked in every corner, a restaurant that earned the property its Relais & Châteaux title, and dreamy Adirondack-inspired decor.

After running through a practice of your ceremony, your wedding party will retreat to an intimate dinner served in either The Wine Cellar, The Baby Bootlegger Room, or The Baby Bootlegger Porch. During this same time, your welcome reception will begin, where all your other guests will arrive, and, at their leisure, head to the lakeside lawn, where they will be treated to a barbeque with live chef attendants, lawn games, a bonfire, and more, until you and your wedding party make their grand appearance.

While the ladies are getting hair and makeup done in Whiteface Suite, your event planner will keep the room stocked with pastries and mimosas in the morning, then tea sandwiches and crudités around lunchtime. As for the groomsmen, they’re welcome to spend the morning golfing (there is a course just next door to the lodge), kayaking, even taking a mountain-biking expedition set up by the lodge. When it’s time for the boys to don their suits, wherever that might be on the property, the event planner will make sure it comes with a bucket of beer and whiskey for a good luck toast.

With so many gorgeous intimate spots around the property – including a rustic lean-to cabin down by the dock and the staircase in the Main Lodge lined with a collection of Hudson River School paintings – your “first look” photos will be a thing of pure beauty. But, of course, nothing tops the actual ceremony itself, held on the scenic lawn at the water’s edge beneath a gorgeous vine-covered arch with the lake and mountains in the background. Once the ceremony concludes, guests are passed custom his-and-her cock-tails and head straight into your cocktail hour at your choice of venue: The Dock, Maggie’s Pub, Adirondack Terrace, or The Baby Bootlegger Porch.

After dinner under the tented Adirondack Terrace, guests move indoors to the attached Enchanted Forest Room to dance the evening away on the dance floor, surrounded by rustic decor that includes tree saplings and paintings that originally served as the backdrop for A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Broadway. And for those still in the spirit when the reception ends, Maggie’s Pub can be opened after-hours for drinks and mingling.

Held on the covered patio known as Artisan’s Runway, this elegant buffet includes all the traditional breakfast staples, as well as a mimosa and bloody mary bar. The newlyweds will sit at a central head table, allowing guests to mingle around them and say their goodbyes. If guests have to depart early, a “grab-and-go” option is also available, featuring wrapped breakfast sand-wiches, granola, yogurt, and more.

While the majority of guests may leave, many newly married couples opt to stay a few extra days at the property. Yes, to wind down from the wedding weekend itself, but also to enjoy all there is to do in the area, including exploring the Olympic village of Lake Placid and the myriad outdoor recreational options in the surrounding Adirondacks.
