There’s always something happening at Wentworth by the Sea. From New Year’s Day through New Year’s Eve, you’ll find an array of holiday happenings and resort activities perfect to plan a special getaway around.

Festival of Lights

Illumination 2026

Tuesday, December 1

5–7 p.m.

We look forward to Illumination at Wentworth every year. Come kick off the Christmas season with carolers, horse drawn carriage rides with Santa, the Portsmouth High School Marching Band, and holiday crafts and games. On December 2 we will be lighting the tree and gathering around this year’s giant gingerbread house.

Thanksgiving 2025 at Wentworth

Gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving at Wentworth by the Sea. We’ll be serving up the classics like maple brined turkey as well as some fresh takes on classic dishes.

Christmas 2025 at Wentworth

Celebrate a quintessential New England Christmas at Wentworth by the Sea complete with maple-glazed ham and roasted salmon. At our Christmas buffet we feature a Belgian waffle station as well as a raw bar and festive carving station.

New Year’s Eve 2025

Step into the spotlight this New Year’s Eve at Wentworth by the Sea. Walk the Hollywood red carpet and celebrate like a star with an evening of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable entertainment.

The night begins with hors d’oeuvres and small food stations from 8–10 p.m., paired with a cash bar available 8 p.m.–midnight. As the countdown begins, prepare for a dazzling balloon drop and a complimentary champagne toast at a designated station by the bar.

Red carpet attire encouraged.

February & April School Vacations 2025: 2/14-3/1 & 4/18-5/3

Over the February and April school vacations, we have loads of family fun scheduled at Wentworth by the Sea. The Garden Ballroom will become a Rec Room from 9:00am – 9:00pm, complete with giant Jenga, corn hole, board games, and giant Connect 4. We’ll also have movie nights on Friday at Saturday starting at 7:00pm with complimentary popcorn, soft drinks and hot cocoa on offer.

If you need further incentive, we have special holiday offers over 2/14-3/1 and 4/18-5/3.

Winter Wine Festival

The 22nd annual Winter Wine Festival starts on January 23. We’ll have Big Tastings in the ballroom with live jazz, food stations, and, of course, wine. Watch this space for more information about our flight nights (every Monday through Thursday night) and weekly Bubbles & Jazz Brunches.
