Two heated pools and hot tubs — one indoor and one outdoor — ensure guests of Wentworth by the Sea are able to enjoy a swim in any season. There’s no finer place to enjoy a day by the water than our outdoor pool, which is situated near the marina and offers views of the sailboats below. The nearby pool bar offers a menu of light bites, frozen cocktails, and more. Back inside, a light-filled atrium towers above the indoor pool and jacuzzi, brightening spirits even on cozy winter days.
Business travelers and guests of all types will never have to miss a workout with our fitness center. Open 24/7, seven days a week, you’ll be able to move whenever the mood strikes. The expansive gym features elliptical machines, exercise bikes, treadmills, free weights, strength equipment, and weight machines.
Tennis is a popular pastime in the warmer months with Wentworth by the Sea’s on-propery clay courts. You and your tennis partner will experience the unique attributes of clay courts as you serve and volley during a morning match. No need to pack your raquets: equipment is available for guests to rent.
Activities
There are few better places to enjoy the outdoors than the coast of New Hampshire. In the summer, its waters come alive with boaters. When fall arrives, the foliage is among the most breathtaking in the country. Outdoor pursuits continue in winter, when ice skating season begins.
Golf
Wentworth by the Sea Country Club’s 18-hole championship golf course is open to guests of the hotel. The more than century-old club has been painstakingly preserved, and the Scottish-style links offer breathtaking ocean views.
Boating
Avid sailors can arrive at the resort via boat to Safe Harbor, the private marina operated steps from our resort. Leisure charters and fly-fishing excursions are also available to book through the marina.
Hiking
Nature trails abound in the region surrounding Portsmouth. Odiorne Point State Park, Fort Foster, and Cutts Island all offer trails suitable for all levels of hikers.
Kayaking
A variety of outfitters, including Portsmouth Kayak Adventures and Seven Rivers Paddling, offer guided kayak and stand up paddleboard tours of the unique waters surrounding Portsmouth.
Paddleboarding
Wentworth by the Sea’s private marina provides easy access to the ocean and water activities. Paddleboarding is a favorite pasttime for sunny days, with stand-up paddleboard tours available through local outfitters.

Look no further for entertainment than downtown Portsmouth, which houses the Seacoast Repertory Theatre and Portsmouth Music Hall, both of which feature live shows all year round. For families, the Seacoast Science Center and Children’s Museum of New Hampshire are excellent places to spend a day.
Skiing
If you’re up for a scenic drive, Ski Bradford and Gunstock Mountain Resort are both favorite winter destinations. Gunstock also remains open through the summer, offering a zipline course, adventure park, and aerial treetop adventures.
